The ATLAS self-driving robot

ATLAS

A self-driving robot

  • All-terrain
  • GPS navigation
  • Autonomous
  • Outdoor

This robot was developed at Harper Adams University to allow students to learn and try out navigation algorithms for autonomous driving.

Short courses are delivered using it, teaching the essentials of robotics, algorithms, state programming and behaviour-based robotics. Courses typically last a week, and students spend time outdoors on our fields testing the robots and learning about technology in farming.

The PID control teaching rig

Control Rig

Teaching practical PID control

  • Step response
  • MATLAB/Simulink integration
